2015 Christmas - Popcorn gift card holder

This is a late night post for you show casing an awesome creation, a popcorn gift card holder for a movie card.  Heather Payne has created this card from scratch - including the stripped card for the pop corn container. The card depicts pop corn spilling out of a cup...

The popcorn was created by punching out the flowers on the boho punch and sponging the edges to give the pop corn colour.  Each piece was moulded distressed and moulded to create dimension and movement ... executed purrrfectly by Heather!

What a great idea for a movie gift card, I just love it! Heather saw the idea on Pinterest HERE by Angela McKay and if you want to create your own - noting you can change the cup to a coffee cup, a flower pot, ...let your imagination run wild - you can watch the video HERE and learn how to create your own.  And remember to share, I love to see what my customers are up too!

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Santa Punch Art Gift Tags

I'm getting into creating gift tags simply because they are so cute and a purrrfect finishing touch to any gift.  This year I made these Santa gift tags using Stampin' Up! punches and I followed the directions of Mikaela Titheridge.

Santa's hatflower from Boho Punch (retired) - Whisper White for pom pom
Petite Pennants Builder - Real Red card stock for the hat body

I added a splash of Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (141897) to make the pom pom sparkle.

I drew on the mouth with a Stampin' Up! marker; blushing bride to match the face...
I sponged the cheeks with Melon Mambo to add dimension
I used a white gel pen to add a highlight to the eyes and nose to give the appearance of shine and add life to the little faces...

Santa's Moustache and Beard
2 3/8" Scallop Circle - White
1 3/4" Scallop Circle - White
Moustache Framelit - Whisper White

and I used a little Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (141897) to make the beard sparkle.

Oh what fun it was to see the little faces come together and come to life... I mounted the cute Santa faces on a Garden Green tag created by using the Ornate Tag Topper punch (137416).  The tag was embossed with Gently Falling and the greeting was stamped from the set Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  The assembled gift cards were given to my customers in their December orders. They are soooooo purrrfectly cute, thank you Mikaela for a great visual tutorial.

Not long to Christmas now!

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsake thinlit die Santa Gift boxes

Today's post is a short one, showcasing a cute little gift box I made for those that attended my end of year class celebration. I love to make gift boxes for Christmas, though I do struggle to dress them. Today I came up with a rather cute idea, after looking at Santa Suits and Christmas gift boxes on pinterest.

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsake Thinlit die.
I mounted the cute Santa faces on a Garden Green tag created by using the Ornate Tag Topper punch (137416) and gave these to my customers.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsake Thinlit die.
I've dressed them using the  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, a retired but gorgeous punch, I often dust off and use for personal projects.
The belt is simply a black strip, 1cm in width and cut to length once glued onto the flap.
The Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack was used for the buckle.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsake Thinlit die.
The back features the Merry Christmas from the Antique Tags hostess set.  I hand coloured this with Stampin' Up! markers and punched it out with the Tag Punch.
This project can fit all sorts of goodies inside, from Washi Tape ;-) to chocolates, jewellery, a votive or couple of tea candles and much more.

To make the Curvy Keepsake Gift box, you need the die, card stock and watch this great You Tube video made by Tami White to see how to assemble it.  It is super easy.  If you need to order any supplies please be sure to contact me and for more ideas visit my pinterest board.

2015 Christmas - Triple Layer cards with Stampin' Up!

Triple layer cards are in fact a card base and 5 layers of card on top or three sets of pictures framed, to give the triple effect. The concept is very striking and can be used to create a picture or used with a stamp/s repeated to form a pattern.  Both have been demonstrated in todays class, the first showcase, created by a gorgeous young lady Analyse...

Set in grey and real red, with pearl highlights, the card was sponged to create the hint of sky; this card is very striking...

I created this card using Flurry of Wishes in Marina Mist ...not that it looks like it, sorry the lighting conditions were poor (love rainy days) and has made the colour look a little like Island Indigo.

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament

I love to show case customer creations and today the beautiful stamp set Embellished Ornament was again chosen when I conducted this class.  I wanted to demonstrate powder/heat embossing, emboss resist and dry embossing with the big shot machine.  The creations are nothing short of stunning and a little bit of Rock and Roll technique crept in too, adding to the dimension of the beautiful baubles...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
Contrasting Real Red and Whisper White with both bauble being embossed - the left one powder embossed in white and then inked with Real Red, the right one rock and rolled in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed in Clear.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
We even added a bit of diamonds to the white embossing powder - sparkles, pretty :-)

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
I tried a couple of angles so that you can see the pretty diamonds...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
Arhh think you can see the diamonds now!...

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornaments

I am loving the Stampin' Up! set of Embellished Ornaments and here is another reason why.  Today I am showcasing the rock and roll technique with clear powder embossing.  This is one of my many creations...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
This bauble was inked in Versamark, then Tempting Turquoise and rocked in Pacific Point.  I then stamped the image on Whisper White Cardstock and covered it in clear embossing powder.  The excess was tapped of and the image heated to melt the powder.  This is the result...

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
From a background of Mistelle toe to a background from the set "You've Got This" I demonstrated emboss resist where I embossed in White powder and sponged in Tempting Turquoise to colour the Whisper White card stock beneath.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
The card features a bauble in rock and roll and an emboss resist bauble to demonstrate the difference in image presentation. Check out Anna K's You Tube video to see how it is done HERE
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
I love the different effects of inking the stamp and presenting the positive and negative - who knew this could be so easy!

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornaments

Today I would like to share another beautiful layout featuring Stampin' Up! stamp set  Embellished Ornament.  The class focused on two techniques - powder/heat embossing and dry embossing using your Big Shot.  This first card exhibits the Embellished Ornament powder/heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler.

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
The background was embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder using the big shot to Dry Emboss.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
I then demonstrated heat embossing on coloured card stock - note this works only for black, white, silver, gold and Cherry Cobbler, clear adds a gloss but does not add a colour.  The background of this card was dry embossed with Stampin' Up! Boho Chick Embossing folder.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
The class was then extended to answer the question of how to emboss any stampin up ink colour you wish.  Click HERE to watch a vide by Dianne Sisneros to see how easy this is done.  Just remember Versamark FIRST then your choice of coloured ink...

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornament
and you can even do rock and roll......see the last post and note versamark first, light coloured ink and then rock and roll. The above bauble was inked with Versamark first, then inked in Perfect Plumb and rocked with Rich Razzleberry.  Once stamped the image was covered in clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat gun.  Easy and LOTS of fun.

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornaments

Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornaments is an awesome set and is complemented with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits dies.  This layout is CASEd from the holiday catalogue and I sooo love it...this blog starts with my creations, to inspire the girls attending my class.  I demonstrated stamping off - for the background, rock and roll on the bauble, and use of the blender pen to shade the leaves...

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Embellished Ornaments in Pacific Point and Night of Navy
The assembly is very easy,
on Whisper White stamp the background in a colour of your choice noting to stamp off first - ie stamp the stamp on scrap and then stamp on your Whisper White
stamp the leaves (Embellished Elements) in Old Olive and colour with a blender pen
rock and roll your bauble in two colours either light and dark or two contrasting colours
you can then high light with pearls and add red berries to the mistelle toe with red glitter.

From blues to Real Red and Old Olive - I used the Delicate Ornament thinlits die to cut out the intricate ornament and backed it in Tip Top Taupe...
